We emphasize the value of the traditional patient-physician relationship, while supporting societal efforts to reduce inefficiencies in the health care system. More and more complex decisions about health care plans are expected of patients. Patients need to make well-informed decisions regarding their oral health, but they also need the empathy of an experienced and trusted physician to be their personal advocate while guiding them through the process.

I was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota.
My father worked for IBM and twice moved for 18-month projects that he was involved in. The first move was to the San Francisco Bay Area and the second to Milan, Italy. However we always came back to Minnesota.
I attended the University of Minnesota, both as an undergrad and in the School of Dentistry Program.
Upon graduating in 1986, I went out on my own and started Xenium Dental in Plymouth, Minnesota. After 14 years in that location, we moved in April of 2003 to our new, state of the art, serene practice and renamed it
NORTHWOODS DENTAL.
Having grown up on hobby farms and lakes, I have quite an appreciation for Minnesota's outdoors.
I currently live on a small lake in the Western suburbs with my wife, Jennifer, and our five children ranging from age four to fourteen. The whole family likes to fish, swim, camp, waterski - really anything that takes us outdoors. I'm proud of our staff and our facility and being able to provide patients with the type of care that I would like for myself and my family.
Prior to graduation from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry in 1978 I attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
I spent twenty five years living in New Prague where I owned my own solo practice, enjoyed small town living, and along with my wife Katie, raised our two children. We recently purchased a home in Minneapolis in order to enjoy the benefits of city living. Travel has been a big part of our lives, including being involved with volunteer projects taking us to Mississippi, Jamaica, Russia and Peru the past few years. I have always enjoyed the sense of satisfaction I get when providing quality dentistry. For this reason I am excited to be a member of the Northwoods Dental staff. When not practicing dentistry you are likely to find me biking, fly fishing, doing outdoor photography or playing golf, a pastime I took up at the age of three in my home town of Montevideo, Minnesota.
I grew up right here in Plymouth and graduated from Armstrong High School.
After completing a biology degree at Luther College in Decorah, IA, I attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and graduated in 2002. I spent five years after dental school practicing in a large group practice. I was excited to join Northwoods Dental where quality patient care is the first priority. I am married with two cats and a golden retriever. We enjoy spending time up North in the summer, swimming, waterskiing and relaxing.
